CodePaw Change Log

Key improvements by version, written for families who want to see what changed without reading technical release notes.

CodePaw is built around private, on-device learning for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The notes below combine the public App Store feature set with the current app modules in the codebase: guided courses, AI personas, Coding Studio, Maths Lab, and database lessons.

Version 1.3.0

Live now

Now live on the App Store, this coding release adds a clearer editor experience and smoother coding lessons.

  • Introduces the new Coding Studio experience for writing, previewing, and improving code inside lessons.
  • Improves the coding course flow so learners can move more naturally between explanations, starter code, results, and help.
  • Continues the App Store promise of real coding on Apple devices, with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and database learning paths in the app.

Version 1.2.0

Database learning

A proper database module arrived, giving children a more realistic way to learn how apps store and query information.

  • Adds a Databases course focused on SQL, NoSQL ideas, and how apps work with stored data.
  • Adds a SQL workspace backed by a real in-app SQLite database runner for lesson practice.
  • Lets learners write queries, run them against lesson data, and inspect results in a table.

Version 1.1.0

Learning upgrade

This release made the app lighter to install while expanding the guided learning experience.

  • Reduced the installer size so CodePaw is easier to download and keep installed.
  • Introduced Maths Lab for hands-on maths practice inside supported lessons.
  • Enhanced learning with more interactive course tools alongside quizzes, notebooks, maps, and AI help.

Version 1.0

First release

The first public version of CodePaw launched the core private learning app for families.

  • Launched safe, on-device AI chat powered by Apple Intelligence on supported devices.
  • Included structured learning courses across subjects such as coding, science, maths, history, geography, and astronomy.
  • Added friendly learning personas, quizzes, course notebooks, voice features, image attachments, and a built-in coding workspace.

Current App Store release: 1.3.0. App Store wording may change over time as new builds are submitted.
